FUNDAMENTALS PHASE (6-8 YEAR OLDS)
U7/U8 FUTURES ACADEMY
The U7/U8 Futures Academy introduces a team concept and competitive games. There are no scores and standings kept. The program is designed to benefit the young player who has a joy for the game, who has good work habits, and who is motivated to further develop his or her ability. There are competitive 4v4 and 5v5 games. Players will begin to learn the five FUNdamental skills of soccer:
  • Ball control and ball manipulation (using all parts of the foot)
  • Dribbling and running with the ball
  • Passing and receiving the ball
  • Shooting / Finishing

The focus is on individual development while introducing team concepts, sharing the ball, and spacing. This 8-week program offered each Fall and Spring includes:

  • Two (2) practices per week
  • One (1) game per weekend

Spring 2026 details:

  • Training dates: Mondays and Wednesdays beginning on March 30
  • Training times: 5:30-6:45 p.m.
  • Games: One (1) game per weekend from April 11-May 30. Home games will be at Ballenger Creek Park. Away games will be at various locations in Frederick County.
  • End of season tournament: June 6

Cost: $200.00 per season (+ Uniform Kit)
